Project Theia is an archival initiative project to save as many uploaded LittleBigPlanet photos as possible that are relevant to clanning or to LittleBigPlanet in general.

Origin[]

It was discovered on March 13th, 2018 by M88youngling and Huntsman007 that photos uploaded to LBP.me from the original LittleBigPlanet game had exactly half the resolution of photos from LBP2 and 3. This was concerning because M88youngling recalled that the photos may have been higher quality in the past, suggesting the possibility that the photos had been degraded in quality purposefully. His hypothesis was that the server owner of LBP.me was halving the resolution of older photos in order to space server space. M88youngling immediately called upon former clanners to assist in archiving as many photos as possible to prevent further quality degradation, and to protect the photos in case the LBP.me website were to go down.

However, it was later discovered that this hypothesis was incorrect. The new concern was that the LBP.me website's domain was supposedly set to expire in early August, 2018. However, as August passed, it was clear that the domain had been renewed. However, without the LBP.me website, no photos will be available for archival. This makes the project all the more critical.

Details[]

The aim of the project is to archive as many relevant photos as possible by author, identify the players featured within the photos, and possibly date the photos. So far, the dates of the photos have not been recorded, but players within have been recorded. Any assistance is appreciated for the project, as there are far too many clanners for one person to cover in a reasonable amount of time, and that time may be limited. If you are interested in helping with the project, comment on this page. The current Project Theia archive can be found here.
